Learning in this course is achieved through a number of components and your success depends on how you utilize them. At a minimum, we expect you to follow the schedule outlined below on a weekly basis starting from the very first week:
- Attend the lecture
- Review the material covered in lecture; in particular, create, compile, run, and test all programs and explore modifying them.
- Do the assigned readings of the week (as indicated in the Calendar) and ensure that you understand the concepts. One way to do that is to explain them to someone else.
- Do the programming exercise (PEx) linked to from the Calendar. Test your programs thoroughly.
- If you have problems with the concepts and/or the PEx, use the Forum to discuss the problem with others.
- Go to your lab session and discuss any pending issues with your TA. This includes both correctness and style.
- When you feel that PEx solution is 100% complete, submit it so that you can use it during labtests.
- You are also encouraged to do a few end-of-chapter exercises and to answer questions posed by others on our Forum.
