Announcements

New announcements will be posted here in reverse chronological order.

Mon Mar. 10, 08

It has come to our attention that some of the marks posted Thursday on ePost were incorrect. Specifically, the written test marks (out of 100) were correct but some of the labtest marks (out of 20) were not. We have since corrected the problem and the marks posted now are correct. We apologize for this mistake and, moreover, we have worked with the registrar office to extend the drop deadline so those who wish to drop the course because their labtest marks were incorrect, can still do so, and those who have already dropped the course, again because of incorrect labtest marks, can re-enrol. If you fall in either of these groups then you must inform your instructor of your decision (to drop or re-enrol) by email by Thursday (March the 13th) at the latest.

  • Solutions to Test 1 are here: here.
  • Use these solutions to help you understand what you did wrong and to learn from your mistakes.
  • If you believe there are errors in the marking of your test, then follow the procedure outlined on the Policies page. Note in particular that the deadline for submitting the reappraisal form will be Monday, March 17. After this date your mark will be considered final.
  • A similar announcement concerning labtest reappraisal will be made later this week.

  • This is a reminder to submit your solution to PEx 01 through 03 before their submission deadline, which next Thursday, Feb. the 14th. These submissions will be available to you during the labtest and you will find them helpful toward completing the labtest questions.

  • Check ePost (accessible from the Grades page) to find out when your labtests 1 and 2 will be. If you have a conflict, email your instructor by the middle of next week at the latest. Your email must state the nature of the conflict (e.g. course#), indicate whether you can take the test at the other time on the same day (i.e. 7 pm instead of 1 pm or vice versa), and failing that, propose several alternate dates at which you can take the test.

Tue Jan. 8, 08

  • Five students in the course (JB, BK, ZL, MF, and FN) do have have cse accounts. It is critical that each of them obtains such an account asap from the lab monitor in the Prism Lab (1st floor of CSEB). Email your instructor as soon as you do this so that your labtests can be scheduled; your ePost database can be initialized; and you can submit your PEx answers.

Mon Jan. 7, 08

  • Welcome to CSE1030! Please read the Format page and take a quick look at the Policies. In the latter, note in particular the policy re test time conflicts and the one re email filters.
