Assignment 2

Please complete the following questions from the text:

Problem 2.9 (iii), (vi), (vii)

Problem 2.10 (i), (iii), (iv)

Problem 2.13 (ii), (v)

Problem 2.14 (i), (iv)

Problem 2.17 (i), (ii)

Problem 2.18 (i), (ii)

Hint for 2.9:

An incrementally linear system can be expressed as a combination of a linear system and an adder that adds an offset yzi(t ) to the output of the linear system. The value of offset yzi(t ) is the zero-input response of the original system. System S1, y(t ) = 3x(t ) + 5, for example, can be expressed as a combination of a linear system S2, y(t ) = 3x(t ), plus an offset given by the zero-input response of S1, which equals yzi(t ) = 5.
