Start of classes.
Please note that the CSE4352 lecture location has been changed to SC 224.
All course related material, such as lecture notes, the list of topics and requirements for the Topic Study, lab assignments, Project requirements, etc., will be posted in the CSE4352 course directory on red: /cs/course/4352
Please note that no lab will be held this week.
CSE 4352 Test 1 will be held on Thursday February 28, 2013, 11:30-13:00.
CSE 4352 Test 2 will be held on Thursday April 4, 2013, 11:30-13:00.

The 4352 lab schedule is as follows (Each lab is on a Friday, 11:30-13:00, in Lassonde 1004A)
- lab 1: Friday January 25.
- lab 2: Friday February 8.
(during reading week Feb 18-22 there is no lab)
- lab 3: Friday March 1.
(March 29 is Good Friday so no lab)
- lab 4: Friday March 15.
- lab 5: Friday April 5.
Note that there will be a lab tomorrow. You may read some of the lab material in “Lab1” in the “Labs” section of this website to prepare for the lab.

CSE4352 Lab 2 originally scheduled for Friday Feb 8 CANCELLED, and is re-scheduled to be held on Friday Feb 15, 11:30-1300, Lassonde 1004A.
As of 5:30am, Friday 8 February 2013, the University has adopted Weather Emergency Procedures at its Keele and Glendon Campuses. All day and evening classes have been cancelled and examinations postponed. http://webapps.yorku.ca/weather/

Please note that the date of CSE 4352 Test 1 has been changed to Tuesday March 5, 2013, 11:30-13:00.
Test 1 will include: (a) Material covered in the lectures from the beginning of the term up to and including the lecture on Tuesday February 26, 2012; (b) Material in the files RT.1.pdf, RT.2.pdf, RT.3.pdf, and slides 1-13 of RT.4.pdf in the course directory;
It is possible that Test 1 may include true/false questions, questions that require short answers, questions that may require the drawing of diagrams, questions that require slightly longer answers, and other possible question formats.
MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE MATERIAL IN THE SLIDES, AND THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS FOR WHICH SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED IN CLASS. IF YOU HAD MISSED A LECTURE, MAKE SURE YOU OBTAIN A COPY OF THE NOTES TAKEN IN CLASS FROM A CLASSMATE, AS TEST 1 MAY INCLUDE QUESTIONS THAT ARE SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS FOR WHICH SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED IN CLASS.

Please note that the topic studies have been re-scheduled to be presented in class on Tuesday March 12, 2013, 11:30-13:00.

Please note that the due date for the topic study report and the project, is on the last day to submit term work, which is Monday April 8, 2013, 23:55. Please note that the last day to submit term work is a hard deadline which cannot be extended, because it is a university regulation.
Although you don't need to hand in the topic study report until April 8, you should really try to complete the topic study report much sooner, because it is going to be important to concentrate your efforts on the project, which is worth 40% of the course grade.
Related to the project:
1. If you need to borrow equipment such as Dragon 12P boards with uC/OSII , IR sensors, RS-422 servo motors, etc., please contact Jaspal Singh at jaspal@cse.yorku.ca.
2. Navid has kindly provided some possible project ideas in the file /cs/course/4352/project_ideas
