====== Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) ====== **Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)** By the end of the course, the students will be able to: * Describe a physical process in terms of signals and systems, and describe the properties. * Calculate the frequency representations of periodic and aperiodic CT signals. * Compute the steady state outputs of linear time-invariant systems in the continuous-time domain using three different but equivalent techniques: (i) solving differential equations, (ii) convolution with the impulse response, and; (iii) the Fourier (or, alternatively, the Laplace) transform. * Represent a CT linear time invariant system using its magnitude and phase spectrum. * Design CT frequency selective filters based on given specifications for the system. * Analyze practical applications in controls and communication systems using the analysis techniques covered in the course. * Represent CT signals/systems as discrete-time signals/systems and use MATLAB to analyze and design the CT signals/systems for selected real-world applications.
