Sending Mail With Big Attachments

Most sites will reject email with large attachments. If you need to send someone a large file, you can use York DropBox. All you need is a web browser. Follow these steps:

• Go to http://dropbox.yorku.ca
• Login with your PassportYork username and password.
• Click “Browse” and choose a file to send.
• Enter the recipients email. You can enter multiple recipient addresses separated by commas.
• Click “Upload File and Send Notification”.

The receipents will receive an email that looks like this:

jas has uploaded a file for you, using the York University Dropbox.

To download the file please go to:

http://download.yorku.ca/index.php?id=aa602c755f02b50610999180648c57c138fb0d6eaca7aaf725514123121f7b71

All files uploaded to the York University dropbox are maintained for 3
days, upon which they are deleted.  Please ensure you pickup your file
prior to its expiration

When the recipient clicks on the link in the email, they will be able to download the file.

Be aware that York DropBox will only retain files for 3 days!
