BRG316 - Power Systems Teaching Lab

Overview

The Power Systems Teaching Laboratory (PSTL) in the Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence building serves as a unique educational laboratory space with experiments ranging from the principles of basic electro-mechanical energy conversion to the integration of renewable power systems into the grid. This laboratory provides a great learning environment for the Lassonde School of Engineering undergraduate students to develop hands-on skills and practical experience in various aspects related to power systems engineering.

PSTL lab workstations include test modules to teach fundamentals of power systems, electric machines, electric power transmission systems, power system protection and real-time simulation of power systems. Moreover, workstations are easy to interconnect which enables them to configure complete power system models with generation, transmission and distribution.
