First Call for Papers

PDF version of Call for Papers

Authors are invited to submit previously unpublished papers describing theoretical advances and applications in fields related to biological and bio-inspired information theory, especially concerning:

  • Molecular information theory
  • Molecular communication
  • Information-theoretic analysis of neuron spike trains
  • Information theory in sensory processing
  • Channel modeling, coding, and error correction in genetic sequences
  • Rate-distortion and source coding techniques in biological systems

Papers can be regular papers or short papers. Regular papers require approximately 30 minutes to present, and will be reproduced in full in the conference proceedings. Short papers require approximately 15 minutes to present, with one-page summaries published in the proceedings.

Papers in PDF format, together with a “regular” or “short” destination and 2-3 keywords, must be submitted via the main conference website (below). Papers should prominently mention (e.g., in the first line of the abstract) that they are to be considered for this workshop.

  • Notice of Acceptance: January 30, 2009
  • Final Manuscript Deadline: February 27, 2009
  • Conference Dates: March 18-20, 2009
