York's teams went to the regional competition in Hamilton on November 1, 2008. It was a fairly difficult problem set this year, but both of our teams had a good showing: out of the 124 teams competing, the York Yeomen (Marina, Robert and Tim) placed 27th and the Gnu Yorkers (Almaz, Chris and Trevor) placed 30th. 2009 regional contest:
Six students represented York at the regional competition in Hamilton on Oct 31, 2009.
The senior team, consisting of Trevor Brown, Almaz Rakhmetov and Dmitri Shuralyov, solved six of the eight problems and came in sixth out of 113 teams.

The team members chosen to represent York at the regional ACM competition this year
were Joy Choi, Elgiz Kenzin and Ethan Nguyen. The competition was held on November 8, 2014, and our team ranked 23rd out of 141 participating teams.

Two teams represented York at the 2016 regional programming contest. The first team (Joy Choi, Andrew Evdokimov and Ilia Jarikov) solved 5 problems and placed 20th out of 126 teams. Only 6 universities were able to solve more than five problems.
The second team (Muaawia Arshad, Minho Lee and Richmond Truong) also made a solid effort, solving 2 problems.

* We held at York four programming contests Sept-Feb.
* Two teams represented York at the 2017 regional programming contest.
* The Red team (Justin Su, Junlin Chen, & Hoang Minh Cu Huy) solved 4 problems ranking 29% and won the Extreme Programming Award at the regional contest for the fastest solution in 6 minutes. I am afraid that the problems this year really were too hard.
