What is the difference between the LECT and ONCA sections?
EECS3000 in the winter term W26 will have two sections:
- Section M, Mode of Learning Code: LECT
- Section O, Mode of Learning Code: ONCA
The "ONCA" Course Section
This section of the course is mostly online.
Classes: The classes of the ONCA section will be are delivered online. For W26, this means a learning format in which students do not meet together at the same time. Instead of a live lecture each week, course materials (like video lectures, readings, and assignments) are made available for students to access and complete within the course week. Students may complete the course materials on their own schedules within the week.
Assessments: Some of the assessments (term tests, graded activities, and the final exam) will be in person and will take place on campus. Other of the assessments will be asynchronous and not in person (complete on your own time and submit via eclass). The in-person assessments are required, and the student's in-person attendance is required and not subject to negotiation.
The "LECT" Course Section
Classes: The classes of LECT section will be scheduled class meetings each week, with live presentation and in-person discussions.
Assessments: Some of the assessments (term tests, graded activities, and the final exam) will be in person and will take place on campus. Other of the assessments will be asynchronous and not in person (complete on your own time and submit via eclass).
