The Medical Device Support Laboratory is dedicated to

1. The preparation of cellular and molecular biological samples and
2. The test and characterization of biological samples in microfluidics or BioMEMS devices taught to the undergraduate students.

The sample preparation and standard characterization will be performed by the technologist and the students can use the sample for running the experiments. This laboratory is dedicated to culture neuronal cells or small animals using a large number of equipment including incubators, refrigerators, etc. The samples should also be tested prior to be tested by the students.

Electrophysiological Tests

• MEA2100-Lite MEA (microelectrode array) Workstation. To evaluate the electrophysiological and pharmacological properties of Cells and Tissues cultivated on MEAs. Recording and stimulation on cells are controlled by software.

• Autolab PGSTAT204. Compact and modular potentiostat/Galvanostat. (1)

Genetic and Molecular Analysis

• QuantStudio™ 5 Real-Time PCR System. For Gene Expression (mRNA) Analysis, microRNA and Non-Coding RNA analysis, Genetic Variation, Mutation Detection.
• Olympus IX53 Inverted Fluorescence Microscope (BRG-326)
• Spectrophotometer UV/VIS/NIR UA 200-1100 nm resolution (BRG-326).
