Assignment 1:
Problem 5(d): Any hints for this question? I know we can use Euler's formula to express sin(x)as [e^(jx) - e^(-jx)] / 2. Is this what you're looking for?
Answer: This is one way of solving the summation. You can follow this approach.
Problem 7: What do you mean by “analytically”? Does this mean, using the DTFT tables?
Answer: Analytically implies using the definition of the DTFT and solving the summation.
Problem 8: You want us to take the DTFT of both x[k] and h[k] to obtain X(e^jw) and H(e^jw), multiply them together, then take the inverse DTFT?
Answer: Absolutely.
Problem 10: You want us to take the z-transform of both x[k] and h[k] to obtain X(z) and H(z), multiply them together, then take the inverse z-transform?
Answer: Absolutely.
