Assignment 1: Problem 5(d): Any hints for this question? I know we can use Euler's formula to express sin(x) as “(e^jx - e^(-jx)) / 2”. Is this what you're looking for? Answer: This is one way of solving the summation. You can follow this approach.
Problem 7: What do you mean by “analytically”? Does this mean, using the DTFT tables? Analytically implies using the definition of the DTFT and solving the summation.
Problem 8: You want us to take the DTFT of both x[k] and h[k] to obtain X(e^jw) and H(e^jw), multiply them together, then take the inverse DTFT? Absolutely.
Problem 10: You want us to take the z-transform of both x[k] and h[k] to obtain X(z) and H(z), multiply them together, then take the inverse z-transform? Absolutely.
