For all the Engineering labs, a Health and Safety presentation is made, during the first lab of the term. Here the students are made aware of:

Installing Software and Drivers
This tutorial describes how to install Intel (Altera) Quartus Software, ModelSim, fpga Devices, related Drivers and to Verify your setup

The tutorial is specifically for Quartus version 20.1 and for Max 10 family of FPGA devices. You would have to alter the steps, if using a different version and device family.

ModelSim Simulator
This tutorial explains running ModelSim simulator, from within the Quartus project, to simulate and verify your Digital Design.

Steps for MacOS Running Quartus and ModelSim on MacOS is Not natively supported. However there are few work-arounds, which have been tried and tested.

Follow the steps in this document to correctly install and setup Quartus and Modelsim when using a MacOS computer.
