Assessment
As indicated in the Grades page, assessment in this course is based on performing eight lab tests and taking two written tests. This page provides information about the first written test.
Written Test #1
Policies
- Test time/place: 5:30-6:45 pm on Monday Feb 22 in VH-D
- This is a closed-book, 75-min test
- Bring a Photo ID
- You can write your answers in pen or pencil
- You may use a calculator
- Do not bring any sheets of paper, blank or not. The MIPS Green Card and the SPIM syscall sheet will be provided.
- Seating may be preassigned and there may be several test versions.
- No questions will be allowed during the test.
Outline
Expect two types of questions:
- Questions that test your understanding of the concepts. These may involve presenting logical arguments or performing a computation.
- Questions that test your ability to interpret and/or create MIPS code. These involve determining the output of a given fragment or the implementing of a method.
To prepare for these, do the tasks of Labs A through D; read the posted lecture notes (and consult their cross-listed textbook sections if needed); and do the exercises posted in the notes.
